The overall objective of the website is to make a small contribution to Canadians’ legal literacy, in this case in understanding:
- why judges do what they do,
- how do they remain impartial,
- why they are not like referees,
- how do they make decisions in hard cases,
- and so on.
Sometimes, I may stray into other topics that may not be specifically about judges but will always have a relationship with the judicial or legal world.
- Why do Canadian judges work with judges in other countries?
- How do judges work with other people in the courtroom, like jury members, witnesses, court staff.
Because this is a work in progress, suggestions for topics and questions that you may have about judging are welcome.
